Treasures and What To Do
19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
(Matthew 6:19-24 NKJV)
We need not store up earthly treasures; we need to concentrate on heavenly treasures. Things of earth are just temporary but things of God will last forever. So many times we put so much emphasis on our possessions on earth that we miss the blessings God has for us. The Bible tells us that we can not serve two masters, that where our treasure is there will our heart be also. God wants us to experience joy hope and peace, in other words a blessed life that we are trying to accomplish on our own. Remember, nothing is possible without God but all things are possible with God. God gives a 10,000 percent return on all investments made with Him and most of what earth offers is 5 to 10 percent most of the time. So, you see it is much wiser to invest our treasures in heavenly things and not earthly things. God loves you!!!!
